02. does your project need to be Sandblasted?
Almost all projects need to be sandblasted to get any remaining debris off and to allow the powder to adhere correctly. You will be charged accordingly to the time allotted to sandblasting your project. Things that will affect the length of time spent in the sandblaster and how much this will add to your total are...
Â
How rusty is your part? What is the size of your part? How clean/dirty is your part?Â
03. What color is your project getting coated?
There are a couple questions regarding finish/appearance that you must ask yourself when you decide that you are getting something powder coated. What color do I want? Do I need a primer/base coat? Does my color need a clear coat?
Â
These are all questions that will affect your pricing and your finish. All powders vary in cost as well as primers, clear coats, etc.
Â
All projects are custom to you! This means that you will pick a specific color just for you! You will then receive an estimate for quantity needed to complete your project and the powder will be ordered. You will also be asked if you would like primer applied, this is "optional" but highly suggested, primer is the base coat that keeps water from reaching your metal and keeps it from rusting,. Again, you will be quoted on an estimate of how much it will take to properly cover your project, and the primer will be ordered. Finally, some powder colors require a clear coat to achieve the desired finish. If this pertains to the color you choose, you will be asked if you would like it applied, if you do not agree to having a clear coat applied on a color that requires it, no specific appearance is guaranteed. But if you move forward with a clear coat, again the powder will be ordered, and you will be charged accordingly.
04. What Are the dimensions of your project?
The dimensions of your project matter for multiple reasons but bottom line, the bigger the project, the more time, powder, and resources it will take to complete your order. (Remember no project may exceed 6'x3'x3')
